Welcome to Monday! So glad to see you again.

Today we will have D.E.A.R., examine a new quote, and work on our Creative Missions.

  • Grab your book

  • Find a comfortable place to sit where you won't bug anyone and they won't bug you

  • Read a book--don't just pretend to read

  • 20 minutes--enjoy it!

Quote of the Week:

"Real people do real things. A collective of a whole bunch of people who do things in their own locale, in their own neighborhoods - the sum is bigger than the parts, and the parts will grow."

--Chuck D, rapper, producer, member of Public Enemy

Learning Goals

Students can complete a project successfully and on time with the guidance of a rubric.

Students can reflect on a short text and try to understand it through annotating, drawing, and writing.

Students can choose a book that fits their interests and is appropriately challenging.

READ for at least 20 minutes: a book, news articles, RAZ kids, movie reviews,  music reviews, or get more ideas here.

Happy new week!

Ms. Kesti

P.S. Here are those annotation examples again:
