Welcome to Wednesday!

 

Today we will do a pre-assessment longer writing session to see where we are at with argumentative writing.

 

We'll read an article, you'll take some notes, and then each write your own response to the author's opinion.

 TODAY'S AGENDA:

1. Do Now: Get a copy of the article, the notes sheet, and a good pencil

    (you may choose to write in Notability--the article and notes sheet are in            the Day 3 folder on Schoology.)

Learning Goals

Students can show me their understanding of an argumentative text.

Students can identify the reasons/evidence stated by the author.

Students can craft their own argumentative text in response.

Students can identify their strengths and growth areas related to argumentative writing.

 

 

HOMEWORK:

READ for at least 20 minutes: a book, news articles, RAZ kids, movie reviews,  music reviews, or get more ideas here.
